Questo contributo indaga il nesso intrinseco tra arte e persona nell’orizzonte del pensiero personalista di Emmanuel Mounier, per il quale l’esperienza estetica non è un ambito separato, ma una dimensione costitutiva della vita personale e comunitaria. L’artista, attraverso l’atto creatore, testimonia la tensione dell’essere-persona verso l’alterità e la trascendenza. L’esperienza estetica appare come esperienza relazionale e personalizzante, in cui gratuità e dono di sé si traducono in resistenza spirituale all’ordine impersonale promosso dalla cultura moderna, capitalista e individualista. L’artista, portatore di una “coscienza inquieta”, diviene protagonista, motore, di una “rivoluzione personale e comunitaria” che mira alla “liberazione” dell’umano da ogni forma di alienazione materiale e spirituale. Il saggio cerca così di mostrare come l’arte, per Mounier, sia insieme vocation e engagement, abitando la soglia fra unicità e comunione, persona e comunità, azione e cotemplazione, immanenza e trascendenza. In tal modo, l’estetica personalista dischiude un’etica della creazione e un’antropologia della relazione, nelle quali la vie en poésie diventa gesto di comunione universale e promessa di umanizzazione della società.

Narrarsi da estranei.

Narrare e narrarsi non sono sempre e automaticamente gesti eticamente buoni. Lo sono, questa è l’ipotesi di partenza, solo quando assumono uno sguardo decentrato, capace di abitare la porosità dei confini e soffermarsi sui fili che legano e le trame possibili, piuttosto che sulle identità che si rivendicano. Per cogliere le implicazioni di tale ipotesi, si procede qui in tre passaggi: prima si portano due esempi di vite decentrate, mostrando come quegli sguardi “di sbieco” siano la via privilegiata per un racconto differente, aperto, accogliente; in secondo luogo, l’esperienza del decentramento, anche in forma narrativa, si collega a una rivalutazione dell’errare, del viaggio come avventura che allena a sfumare i contorni, non per confondere e abbandonare ogni pretesa di verità, ma piuttosto per coglierne la pienezza dentro la vita, oltre ogni apparenza, ogni rigida determinazione, ogni confine che diviene barriera; infine, si riflette intorno alla costellazione semantica che lega imprecisione ed esattezza come modi privilegiati di sfumare i contorni, leggendo la prima come lavoro di rinegoziazione delle definizioni troppo rigide che finiscono per diventare gabbie identitarie.

This paper has two aims: On the one hand we show how certain life-forms lead to certain metaphysical and ontological conceptions and world views. We specifically concentrate on Thomas Hobbes and Bruno Latour – Hobbes being influenced by the English Civil War and Latour by climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, we show how Latour's work has been influenced by Hobbesian thought throughout his whole career and how he tries to adapt Hobbesian concepts such as state of nature, contract, Leviathan to his actor-network-theory and the later Gaia-hypothesis. Both thinkers share a critique of bifurcation of nature that divides reality into the artificial and the natural, premodern and modern. Due to the influence of the English Civil War and climate change and Covid-19, we concentrate on the concept of war.

Intrecciando le prospettive di Mohammed Aziz Lahbabi sui concetti di frontiera e dialogo, così come essi vengono proposti in una chiave personalista realista, questo contributo intende allargare lo sguardo, fino ad arrivare a proporre una visuale da e per un’autobiografia lahbabiana. Dalle pagine della tesi di dottorato del filosofo, fino ad alcuni scritti posteriori di circa due decenni, queste pagine vogliono provare a proporre un’immagine dinamica del pensiero di quest’autore.

Para além de um fenómeno físico, a luz assume-se como elemento simbólico e espiritual fundamental da arquitectura, sendo capaz de moldar atmosferas, estimular experiências sensoriais e estabelecer uma ligação entre o ambiente construído e o cosmos. Este ensaio explora a interacção entre arquitectura, luz e espiritualidade no contexto do património astronómico, evidenciando como as sociedades antigas recorriam à luz na arquitectura como um elemento mediador entre o ser humano e o cosmos. Através da exploração de diversos casos do património astronómico arquitectónico, procura-se compreender como o uso da luz na arquitectura se revela num instrumento essencial de interpretação cosmológica, promovendo uma continuidade entre a ciência, a espiritualidade, o Sagrado e a experiência sensível do tempo, onde a luz celeste opera como um elemento de ligação tangível entre a Terra e o céu.

Se è vero che l’arte, in quanto «realtà esistenziale», è scomponibile in dati spaziali leggibili attraverso un «approccio dualistico», l’icona è la massima rappresentante di tale possibilità: l’iconostasi diviene dunque luogo fisico non solo e non soltanto della raffigurazione pittorica, bensì soprattutto metafisico del dialogo sempre vivo e presente tra mondo visibile e mondo Invisibile; inoltre, per cercare di arginare il sempre presente rischio idolatrico, la scrittura iconica pone in atto un linguaggio del paradosso, nel quale presenza e assenza, luce e ombra, visibilità e invisibilità sono legate al fine di permettere all’icona di rivelare, ma allo stesso tempo non pretendere di circoscrivere, Dio. Luogo privilegiato della comunicazione, l’icona diviene catalizzatore in grado di aprire uno spazio «oggettivo e originale allo sguardo, sia spirituale che fisico».

This essay explores Susan Sontag’s aesthetics through her rejection of interpretative violence and her valorization of surface, form, and perceptual intensity. Drawing on key texts such as Against Interpretation and Notes on Camp, it examines how Sontag challenges the traditional dichotomy between depth and appearance, proposing instead an «Erotics of Art» rooted in immediate, sensuous experience. Particular attention is given to the role of cinema as a privileged medium of Camp aesthetics, where excess, stylization, and irony displace the search for meaning. From They Live to Barbie, the text outlines a trajectory of images that do not seek to be understood but to be felt, watched, and experienced in their radical visibility.

Maine de Biran e la percezione dello spazio.

The aim of this paper is to analyze Maine de Biran’s position on the perception of space. While in the various studies devoted to Biran’s thought it is not uncommon to find analyses of his theory of touch, it is rather difficult to find insights into his conception of spatial perception. The purpose of this article is therefore to revisit the theme of touch in Biran, but to place it within a different interpretive framework, that of spatial perception and of Molyneux problem. Such a thematic repositioning has several advantages. Not only does it allow Biran’s name to be included in a history of the reception of the Molyneux problem that has so far failed to take into account the role of his reflections in this debate, but it also makes it possible to address certain aspects of Biran’s philosophy – such as the problem of the innate or acquired origin of knowledge, the question of the relationship between visual and tactile data, and the question of the transition from the corps vivant to the corps propre – that have often been overlooked.

Chiasmus in chorology – encounter in the interval.

This article argues for a chorological reinscription of the fathomless Platonic chôra in what I call the field of contemporary ‘cultural intersectionality’. It aims to define a dynamic and generative space of heuristic coincidence and transparency to address important intercultural issues or emerging tasks in the contemporary.

According to Agamben, the full meaning of chorology is revealed in the medial position (metaxú) of chôra as «three in three forms» (tria triché). If the chôra is a third genre (genos) and the medium (medio) that holds together the intelligible and the sensible, there should inevitably result a ‘fourth’ from this union, argues Agamben. This fourth has the structure of chiasmus. Although Agamben does not develop further the implication of the chiastic disposition in chorology, his introduction of chiasmus as the fourth term is crucial as rooted in the chôra. The term helps refine his reading of the specificity of ‘coincidence’ between the apparently split categories; it is a response to their division (chorismos). The mediality of the chôra allows Agamben to define «the thing in the medium of its knowability» and to admit that politics cannot be anything other than chorology. «True philosophy, like true politics, is a chorology».

The contribution of this paper resides in that it takes further to explore chiasmus in chorology as a generative dynamic principle. It postulates that the chiastic coincidence between the intelligible and the sensible detected by Agamben could be imagined as a point of intersection that prefigures the potentiality of convergence of ideas that would bring together a world of division and create a bridge of tolerance and reconciliation. Taking further Anca Vasiliu’s view of the middle point of chiasmus as «an encounter in the interval», this paper proposes that chiasmus could become the auspicious ground or interval (metaxú) for a chorological encounter to reveal, through the transparency/diaphaneity of its discourse, how the things are «in their own chôra», thus reaffirming what scholars, since Plato, problematized how to look at the ultimate vision and see the thing not in its appearance, but as «the thing itself in its own chôra». As it came out, our view, as well as Agamben’s, joined John Sallis’s view, as well as Anca Vasiliu’s stand, especially when she claims that chiasmus can be regarded as a double event that marked once the birth of the World Soul, as well as the birth of the visible. In promoting chiasmus in chorology, we dedicate this encounter in the interval to the Other and Othering as fundamentally distinct, unique, and even sometimes opposing.
